What is the Parade of Homes?

Nope, it’s not a parade of paper-macheed homes being wheeled down main street (but you probably already knew that). What is is, however, is a regional tour of the area’s finest built homes: these are finished homes that were built within the past year or so, they already have a permanent address and a foundation that they’ve been built upon. Basically, the event operates like an “open house.”  After purchasing tickets in advance at a designated location or purchasing them at the home that they first visit, the public goes inside the home during the scheduled hours of the organizer and meets with a builder and/or construction/design expert to walk them through the home or the public will visit freely within the home to see the final “product” of this builder. Then they may go around to the other homes within the Parade of Homes to explore other builders and other ideas. Basically, the point of the event allows the public to see the craftsmanship and latest design trends of recently built homes, and gives them an opportunity to get inspired to build a home of their own.

Why should I attend?

OK, so we understand that have to pay money to see these homes, but whether you’re a serious buyer and you’re shopping for a new home now or whether you plan to in the near future, this Parade tour will be well worth your time and your return on investment. Why? That $7-$10 gets you a chance to:

  1. Meet and greet with the design and construction experts who could potentially build your home
  2. Ask the builder questions
  3. Learn about the trends, colors, interior finishes and home technologies that interest you (not the other way around)
  4. Explore the craftsmanship of the homes and utilize all of your senses to explore a home (you can’t know everything from searching online, after all)
  5. Make a huge step in building a relationship with a great builder that you trust and like and maybe, just maybe, they’ll build the home of your dreams. And if that’s the case, you’ll want to start building that relationship now, because this is going to be one of the largest investments that you’ll ever make
